The difference between franchising and stand alone business

I am going to start my business this coming summer to have some additional income aside from blogging.  Yes, it is true that blogging can be your source of income but it would take some time and you have to be good at SEO in order to get your living from the Internet.  Maybe I would rely on blogging as my only source of income someday but I think that this is not the time to do it since my income is still not that big.

I am thinking that I am going to have a business about photography since my mother has offered me a space in front of our house.  Our house is located near the national road so lots of people will be seeing it.  I am not thinking of business franchise as of now since the cost is too high for me.  Maybe someday I would consider it since it requires minimal work and is easier to make money.

Of course, when you are going into a business, you will have to research about the niche that you are considering.  Whether it is franchise or a stand alone, research is a must to be successful.  The only difference between the two is the time frame before success comes.
